After littering wire-constructed versions of this convertible concept around London last week, Land Rover has now showcased the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible in all its glory. This drop top model of one of Land Rover's most popular SUVs will no doubt divide opinion, but the same thing could be said of the Evoque when it was debuted alongside Victoria Beckham in 2010.

Nevertheless, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is indeed eye-catching, and brings "something new to the world of soft-top driving," according to Land Rover. The aforementioned soft-top roof folds up into a Z shape and is stored in a compartment above the SUV's boot. It takes roughly 18 seconds to reach its fully convertible state, which is a little slow by modern drop-top standards. Furthermore, returning to roofed moved takes an even longer 21 seconds, which means you're definitely getting wet if caught by one of those Highveld afternoon thunder showers (if they ever come this week).

Along with being able to strip off its top layer, this Range Rover Evoque will come in two different models, the SE Dynamic and HSE Dynamic, with the latter offering a few more interior features like customisable lighting, an In Control Pro infotainment system and 12 way electric memory seats.

Both models are set go on sale in Spring 2016 in the UK, but there's no word on whether it will be heading to South African shores.
