Ever since Apple released iOS 11 late last year, the operating system has had a tough time of things. With a large amount of users unhappy with the interface, as well as reporting flaws in the system, a recently discovered bug only exacerbates the issue for Apple.  

Initially spotted by Italian blog Mobile World, the bug allows users to send a specific character in iOS 11's messaging apps to other iPhones, which in turn prohibits access to apps like WhatsApp, Gmail, Facebook Messenger and Outlook. Furthermore, the vulnerability also seems to work on some macOS devices, according to The Verge, and has the potential to make iPhones crash.

The bug itself is said to occur when users send a specific character in an Indian language (Telugu), and once received causes the iOS Springboard to crash.

Apple is aware of the issue, and has stated that it will issue a fix in an iOS update before the company releases version 11.3 of the operating system to users later this year. With iOS 11 suffering an extremely buggy launch, it's clear that Apple has quite bit of fine tuning and testing to do on iOS 12 as it too nears release.
