Legend of Zelda rides off into 2016
By Ryan Noik 2 April 2015 | Categories: newsIf you were, like us, waiting anxiously for the next entry in the Legend of Zelda franchise on the Wii U, meant to arrive this year, then you may want to brace yourself for some disappointing news. Alas, you – and we – have more of a wait ahead, as the game has been pushed into 2016. It’s not exactly the first time that a Legend of Zelda game has been delayed into the following year, indeed, for anyone following the franchise, it’s become somewhat of a tradition.
However, considering the fact that the Wii U debuted back in 2012, four years is a stingingly long time to have to wait for what is arguably one of Nintendo’s most treasured franchises to grace the console. Also, it would mean the game would potentially come at an awkward time, right when Nintendo is expected to reveal its Wii U successor, codenamed the Nintendo NX.
That means that the Legend of Zelda Wii U will likely be the console’s swan song rather than its call to arms, which is a real pity.
