Last year, smartphone makers backed one of two horses, opting to remove or retain the 3.5 mm headphone jack. One of the companies that did the former was Lenovo for its Moto Z Force, which landed in the United States in limited quantities via specific retailers. The Z Force sported a thicker body with a bigger battery and better camera compared to the regular Moto Z that arrived in South Africa, while both devices did away with the headphone jack.

According to Android Authority, the larger Moto Z Force will return with a 3.5 mm headphone jack for its next iteration, with more retailers in the US said to be stocking it. Furthermore, a few more details for the device have emerged.

It will reportedly feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset internally, but also a thinner body at 5.99 mm compared to the predecessor. On the modular side of things, last year's Moto Mods are said to be compatible with the new Z Force.

As for what the regular Moto Z follow-up will feature, nothing has been detailed yet.
