Lion King live action remake gets a teaser
By Staff Writer 23 November 2018 | Categories: newsThe Lion King holds a special place in many people’s hearts. A life action remake of the cartoon original has long been on the cards, and now at long last we have a teaser trailer. Disney, however, is playing their cards close to their chest, with not a lot of the characters being revealed just yet.
The trailer centres around the ‘big reveal’, where Rafiki (voiced by our very own John Kani) shows off the new born prince Simba (the older Simba is voiced by Donald Glover, oh yes!) to the animals. The cast list reads very much like a who’s who, with everyone from Beyoncé, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, James Earl Jones and John Oliver voicing a part. The movie is of course directed by Jon Favreau who did a sterling job on The Jungle Book live remake, while also having the first two Iron Man movies to his credit.
The Lion King is set to hit the US box office on the 19th of July, which provides ample time for further trailers to reveal a bit more than the teaser below. Hit play to hear the iconic music from the film, plus the original animation of the same scene posted at the bottom.
