For the tech world, the next big event this year is IFA 2015, happening from 4 to 9 September. As it turns out however, some of tech's big players are opting to forego the event to make their big announcements. One such company is Microsoft, with sources stating that the company will be debuting all of its hero products at an event in October instead of Basel's IFA 2015.

Other companies have adopted similar tactics in an effort to avoid the swell of news that IFA usually brings, as Samsung debuted their new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ last week. Apple too has historically chosen to skip IFA altogether, and rather host an event on 13 September this year, with the iPhone 6s expected.

Shifting back to Microsoft, the American company is anticipated to debut a slew of products in October (exact date unconfirmed), with sources at The Verge confirming a new Surface Pro 4 tablet, two new Lumia smartphones, as well as an updated Band 2 wearable.

The move seems a pretty logical one, as Windows Phone 10 has regularly been seen as a release scheduled for later in the year, according to Microsoft. It will also be a rather significant event for Microsoft if confirmed, as it will bring the company's cross-platform OS mantra in greater focus.

For now, Microsoft has remained tight-lipped, but should that change we'll be sure to detail it.
