It has been a long time coming, but Xbox South Africa has detailed some of the local launch information for its Xbox One X console, doing so at rAge Expo 2017, which is happening this weekend. According to Xbox SA, the latest 4K DHR touting console will be available in early December from local retailers, with a recommended price tag of R7 499.

We've trawled a few local gaming sites and it's popped up on Animeworx (AWX) for the R7 499 asking price, with the 1 TB version of the console (including controller) up for pre-order. AWX notes the console is releasing on 31 December, but that date will likely be pushed up to closer match up with Xbox SA's early December projection.

For those still unfamiliar with Xbox One X, it will be on show at rAge Expo 2017 from today until 8 October. Microsoft will also have a handful of notable titles on display as well, including Assassin's Creed Origins and Forza Motorsport 7. As for the Project Scorpio Edition of the console, no word has been given by Xbox South Africa on a probable release date or availability.
