Mid-range Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 series launched in South Africa

And looking at the new Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10 5G and Mi Smart Band 6 that have now been launched in South Africa, one can start to understand why the brand is doing well.
Redmi Note 10 5G: Delivering an accessible 5G device for everyone
5G is the name of the game, with Xiaomi believing the Redmi Note 10 5G delivers one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in the country, without cutting corners. Indeed, it comes with a 6.5" FHD+ Dot Display with complete with a 2400x1080 resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi touts the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor with a 7 nm manufacturing node, alongside 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space to keep this cat purring along.
The Redmi Note 10 5G sports a solid camera system with 48 MP main camera, 2 MP macro camera and 2 MP depth sensor, plus a decent 5000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging to keep you up and running.
Available in Graphite Gray and Nighttime Blue, the device retails for R4 499.
Redmi Note 10 Pro: The first 108MP and 120Hz AMOLED in the Redmi Note Series
The Redmi Note 10 Pro ups the ante as one of the highest resolution cameras for smartphones, which Xiaomi notes makes it, “the mid-range king in mobile photography”.
The phone’s 108 MP sensor with 9-in-1 binning technology and Dual native ISO combines to capture the finer details, provide a higher dynamic range and offer an array of photo editing possibilities. Thanks to the night mode 2.0 powered by RAW multi-frame algorithm, users can capture decent visuals even in low-light settings.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro offers both pro and telemacro time-lapse video shooting. Other new additions in Redmi Note include Photo Clones, Video Clones, Dual Video and Long exposure modes for extra fun photo or video sharing on your favorite social media apps.
Your photos are viewable on the 6.67” 120 Hz AMOLED DotDisplay, with its Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front protecting from unsightly scuffs and scratches.
Working hard on the inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G and a decent dollop of 6 GB of RAM. Combined with a 5020 mAh battery and 33 W fast charging, it offers a strong experience for R5 499.
Redmi Note 10S: Continuing to reinvent the mid-range smartphone experience
If you need something slightly cheaper, the Redmi Note 10S is equipped with a 6.43” AMOLED display and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It comes with a few interesting features, including the Arc side fingerprint sensor, 33W fast charging, a 360-degree light sensor setup and immersive dual speakers.
The Redmi Note 10S is ready to snap using its quad camera setups, featuring an 8 MP ultra-wide angle camera for group shots, 2 MP macro camera for close-ups and a 2 MP depth sensor for supporting portraits. The 64 MP Redmi Note 10S main camera is the pixel count on previous models, and is equipped with Pro time-lapse capabilities, marking an addition to the previous slow motion, night mode and regular time-lapse features.
Featuring the MediaTek Helio G95, Xioami notes the Redmi Note 10S challenges with faster gaming, improved performance and GPU, clocking speeds of up to 900 MHz.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S (6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage) comes in Onyx Gray and Ocean Blue and retails at R4 999.
Mi Smart Band 6: one step ahead
Finally, there’s also a wearable onboard, with the Mi Smart Band 6 coming in as one of the most affordable units available in South Africa.
The all-new Mi Smart Band 6 is upgraded with a 1.56’’ full screen AMOLED touch display, offering a 326 ppi resolution and approximately 50% more screen space than its predecessor.
Designed with a fitness tracker at its core, Mi Smart Band 6 doubles its fitness mode options to include a total of 30 fun and challenging workout types. Users can now enjoy more indoor training like stretching and HIIT, try out professional sports like gymnastics, or even play with fun activities, such as Zumba and street dancing.
This new edition features SpO2 measurement, accurate heart rate monitoring, as well as an enhanced sleep tracking function that monitors naps, sleep cycles and sleep breathing quality. The product also comes with stress monitoring, a deep breathing guidance function, as well as female health tracking to provide users with comprehensive health insights into their body and lifestyle.
Topped with 14 days of battery life and certified to 5 ATM water resistance, the Mi Smart Band 6 comes in Black and retails at R799.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro is available on the Vodacom website from 15 July 2021. The Redmi Note 10 Series will be available on Vodacom, Takealot and other official Xiaomi retailers from the end of July onwards.
