More good Psychonauts news emerges
By Ryan Noik 15 January 2016 | Categories: newsYou could practically hear the online exclamation of joy when Double Fine announced its crowdfunding campaign for Psychonauts 2, and now there are two pieces of good news. The first is that the crowdfunding campaign was a blistering success, meeting its $3.3 million goal five days ahead of the campaign’s end.
The second piece of good news is that the original game is coming to the PS4 in the next few months. Alas, a firm release date hasn’t been specified as yet, but for those who want to see what all the fuss is about and why this is such fan love for Psychonauts, this may just be the best way to do so on the current gen console.
For those new to the game, Double Fine explains that Psychonauts follows the story of a young psychic named Razputin in his quest to join an elite group of international psychic secret agents, the Psychonauts. He runs away from the circus and breaks into their secret training facility, Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp.
As he begins his training by psychically delving inside the consciousnesses of his tutors and those around him, he realises all is not as it seems, and soon embarks upon a psychic odyssey through a variety of levels set inside the minds of misfits, monsters, and madmen.
All indications are that the second game will follow on from the first story wise, with the sequel then likely to appear in a couple of years’ time.
