New SOMA trailer has us weary of the underwater depths
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 4 September 2015 | Categories: newsJust like the movies they draw inspiration from, a good sci-fi horror game needs to know how to build up the anticipation, and then surprise its gamers in the most frightening of ways. One such game that looks to be doing so is SOMA, developed by Frictional Games, who created the quite frightening Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
With the latter deemed a success by many, SOMA has a fair amount to live up to. That said, the few trailers we've seen to date are extremely eerie in their nature, and look promising indeed. Keeping the streak alive is a new trailer titled Environments.
As expected, it showcases the various setting that gamers will encounter in the game, although their escape is something still unknown. SOMA is described as a puzzle by Frictional Games, with elements of both active and passive storytelling.
How well this translates into the game itself will have to be seen come 22 September when it releases on PS4 and PC. Till then, give the video below a view.
