New Spider-Man watch slings its way to market – for $19 500
By Staff Writer 15 January 2018 | Categories: newsYou might either love or hate their designs, but at least Swiss watchmaker RJ-Romain Jerome provides a constant stream of geek-related timepieces. Their latest should be perfect for the well-heeled Spidey fan, with the release of the RJ x Spider-Man watch.
Firstly, no, it cannot shoot webbing, but this new watch should provide you with some comic-book street cred. Seeing that only 75 of these have been created, it goes for a pricey $19 500; not quite the $1.1 million a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 went for (Spidey’s first appearance) but still a lot of moolah.
For that type of money you get Swiss precision presented in RJ’s Skylab case which follows the rule of a classic round-shaped case with four lugs, revealing the three-layer movement within. The company notes the central spider-shaped applique, the transparency of the skeleton as well as the web metallised on the sapphire crystal, all contributing to the Webslinger look of the watch.
Furthermore, there’s a small balance wheel visible at the bottom centre, the manual winding provides a power reserve of 48 hours, while the watch is also water-resistant to 30 m. The RJ x Spider-Man is, as can be expected, an officially licenced Marvel product.
Check the quick video below to see if you will splash $19 500 on this Spidey watch.
