Under Armour has launched the UA HOVR Phantom 3 locally, a neutral running shoe that builds on the Phantom range's reputation for versatility. The sports equipment company believes this shoe delivers the speed and propulsion that athletes demand from a performance running shoe while maintaining the comfort and stability needed from a training shoe.

The shoe is pitched to athletes who are hitting the pavement through short runs and intervals as part of a comprehensive training regimen, but who are also comfortable spending time in the gym. The company states the Phantom 3 was, "thoughtfully and skilfully crafted to possess the qualities that enable snappy sprints and intervals or shorter distance runs with the stability and comfort to transition back to the weight room and plyos."

So what's onboard the latest Phantom? Firstly, the latest HOVR midsole technology now runs the full length of the midsole in the Phantom 3, meaning a "plush feeling underfoot without compromising on propulsion". There's also a soft, highly textured UA Intelliknit upper which is noted to improve breathability through its stretch and targeted flex. A new heel counter combined with pillowy but firm panels delivers sturdy, foot hugging support. And finally, moulded detailing in the midfoot and lower contour around the ankle is said to improve fit, also offering stability and ease of entry benefits.

The Phantom 3 weighs in at 314.68g, comes with an offset of 9mm, and does not Include Under Armour's Bluetooth connectivity chip. You can get yours at Under Armour Brand House stores nationwide as well as online for R3200.
