New book from George R.R. Martin may be pending
By Ryan Noik 18 March 2015 | Categories: newsGeorge R.R. Martin doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being a bearer of good news, as the author is all too willing to dispose of fan favourite characters with the stroke of a pen. However, Martin may have just inadvertently revealed when fans of the books can look forward to the next entry, and sixth book The Winds of Winter.
Along with pulling out of attending the World Fantasy Convention, and the San Diego Comicon, owing to having too much work to get through, the famous author noted on his blog that he reserved the right to change his mind should he complete and delivered Winds of Winter before the convention starts.
It doesn’t take a seer, or even a Lannister-funded bribe, to surmise that the work keeping Martin away from conventions is the penultimate book in the series. Considering that the last book came out back in 2011, we are well due for another one to get stuck into this year. Indeed, what with a new book from George R.R. Martin and new entries in the Star Wars series, 2015 is looking like an extremely good year to be a fan of reading and sci-fi/fantasy alike.
