New ecommerce platform for Under Armour in South Africa
By Staff Writer 17 June 2020 | Categories: newsIf you are looking for your Under Armour gear but have been unwilling to go to the shops during this pandemic, there’s some good news. The official distributor of Under Armour in South Africa, Apollo Brands, has now launched its Ecommerce platform in South Africa.
The new website will allow customers to easily purchase performance products from the safety of their own home. Whether it be running gear, training gear or the latest fast or long-distance trainers (such as the UA HOVR Infinite running shoe with built-in sensor), through underarmour.co.za the brand can now safely provide its audience with any shopping method they need.
Interestingly, the company has also introduced a Booking Site where you can book out an Under Armour store for up to six people; browse a store virtually through Zoom; request a Tech Specialist for a shopping experience at home; or book a mobile shopping unit for your workplace.
MD of Under Armour SA, Gareth Kemp notes, “Ecommerce allows a traditional brick and mortar facility to operate within new limits, setting higher benchmarks as we open our product offering to a wider, more tech savvy, audience. Keeping this in mind, we’ve put a fair amount of resources into not only developing an ecommerce platform but also to implement UX Design and key optimisation strategies.”
Camille Fletcher, ecommerce manager at Under Armour SA states how the new site is mobile and desktop friendly, also taking into account fast loading times on individual pages. “We will also be rolling out new exciting additions over the coming weeks which speaks to the innovative technology we offer. Under Armour essentially sells technical solutions for the sole purpose of making athletes better, and we need to focus on clearly communicating this on the online platform and through its usability.”
