Despite 2017 nearing its conclusion, HMD Global is still hard at work making Nokia Mobile branded devices. The company, which is licensed to produce the Finnish phones, has a new offering in the lineup, with the Nokia 7 being unveiled in Shanghai earlier today.

This latest device is a mid-range offering, but does draw some inspiration from HMD Global's flagship Nokia 8, with the integration of a ‘bothie’ camera mode for live broadcasting. For the bothie mode, the Nokia 7 features a 16 MP shooter on the rear and 5 MP option up front. As for what kind of difference this makes to picture quality, remains to be seen, particularly as the Nokia 8 has a 13MP on the front and back for its bothie mode.

Moving through the rest of the device, a 5.2" 1080p display is on the front, with HMD Global opting for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. This is a nice step up from the Snapdragon 400 options that HMD has used in previous entry-level/mid-range devices this year. Added to this is 4 GB RAM, 64 GB onboard storage (microSD slot for up to 128 GB) and a 3000 mAh battery.

All of this will cost consumers in China roughly $400 when the Nokia 7 arrives on 24 October. As for the device's local arrival, no word from HMD Global just yet.
