This week's collection of new trailers has something for everybody. Whether you're a fan of in-depth documentaries, fancy an interesting biopic, jump scare-laiden horrors or want to see superheroes duke it out, all were delivered in equal measure of the past few days. Scroll down and see what's on the way.

Rememory

Release date: 24 Aug in States

What if all your memories could be saved to a memory stick and played back at will? What if you are the scientist who invented the machine and got murdered? What if you are detective Sam Bloom (Peter Dinklage) tasked to solve the murder using this machine and it starts messing with your memories? Rememory looks to combine elements of Minority Report with good old crime noir, and by the looks of it should be great.

Best bit: Things get muggy at 1:43.

Mother!

Release date: 15 Sept in States

Darren Aronofsky isn't the most prolific director, so when it's time for a new movie, it’s  worth your time to sit up and take notice. The second trailer for Mother! has been released, with this psychological horror featuring the prestigious talents of Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem and also Ed Harris. After Black Swan we can't wait to watch this one.

Best bit: The beat dropping at 1:00.

Marvel's The Defenders (Third trailer)

Release date: Currently streaming on Netflix.

Back when Netflix started streaming episodes of its superb Daredevil series, the plan was always to bring The Defenders to the small screen. Now that's about to happen, as The Defenders has begun streaming its first season earlier today, with a third trailer for the series accompanying it. Sigourney Weaver narrates most of the trailer, as she lays down a warning to our four heroes. Consequently, it seems like the odds are heavily stacked against them.

Best bit: The poses at 1:27.

Icarus

Release date: Streaming already

How do you accidently document the biggest athletics scandal this century? Director and cyclist Bryan Fogel had an idea for recording his own experiences with doping, and managed to snag the man said to be responsible for the Russian doping scandal that rocked the world. If your plans for the weekend aren’t set yet, Icarus is already streaming on Netflix.

Best Bit: 0:43. Wait, wait. Let’s back up for one second.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Release date: 27 Oct in States

If you’ve seen Dogtooth and The Lobster, you’ll know that Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos can get pretty weird. His latest, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, is no different. In fact, it’s even more disconcerting. Starring Colin Ferrell, who also featured in The Lobster, and Nicole Kidman, The Killing of a Sacred Deer seeks to address themes of justice and revenge in what looks like the most disturbing way.

Best bit: Not quite the trailer where you can pick a ‘good’ bit.

Molly's Game

Idris Elba, Jessica Chastain, Kevin Costner

Poker is a high-stakes game, and in order to get in on the action, Molly Bloom ran the most exclusive underground poker games on the globe.  Based on her memoires, this movie shows how Hollywood actors, top level businessmen and eventually the Russian mob got involved. It’s the directorial debut of writer Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men) and stars Jessica Chastain in the title role, and Idris Elba as her lawyer.

Best bit: Molly putting a plan in place at 1:30.

The Monster Project

Release date: 18 August in States

Found footage? Check. Jump scares? Check. Monsters? Double check. A production company places an ad looking for monsters and is quite surprised when said monsters are actually real. The frights on the trailer look a bit obvious, but The Monster Project could perhaps provide enough of a fright to satisfy your horror lust.

Best bit: 1:01 – Not my protection, yours.

Gemini

Release date: 2018 (TBC)

Produced by NEON films, Gemini is another in a growing list of movies (Ingrid Goes West, The Bad Batch) from the company that tries to tackle youth culture, celebrity and obsession. Things take a turn for the worse early on in this trailer, as fixation soon leads to a murder implication. Starring some talented up-and-comers in Zoë Kravitz (X-Men: First Class) and Lola Kirke (Mozart in the Jungle), Gemini looks like a dark tale in the guise of Mulholland Drive, albeit through a modern lens.

Best bit: When things go balls up at 1:00.

Fire Chasers

Release date: 8 September (Global)

A documentary that is a couple of weeks away from release on Netflix, Fire Chasers looks at the lives of the men and women tasked with fighting the frequent blazes affecting the Californian countryside. With a reported 6 986 fires during 2016 alone, Fire Chasers takes us through the taxing day-to-day events that these people are forced to confront. From the same producers behind Deadliest Catch, Fire Chasers should be of interest to those that enjoy that genre of documentary.

Best bit: Not really that kind of documentary.
