When it comes to the console wars, Nintendo has been lagging behind the likes of Sony and Microsoft, especially since both companies revealed new hardware earlier in the year. Nintendo does, however, have a significant project in the works - the NX console. Shrouded in mystery, little is known about the gaming device, but that all changes today at 16:00 (SAST). 

The Japanese company has announced via Twitter that it will reveal a trailer for the NX console later today. It will reportedly be three minutes long, and offer the first official glimpse at the new offering from Nintendo. The finer details may be missing, however, as there's no confirmation of a fully fledged press conference at this stage.

While we don't have any official information on the NX at this stage, we do know that it will be released in March 2017, and may feature a hybrid handheld system that connects to the TV. The trailer will air on Nintendo's respective YouTube and Twitch channels.
