OPPO launches Reno15 Pro and Reno15 F locally
By Staff Writer 29 January 2026 | Categories: news
OPPO South Africa has officially launched the Reno15 Series at a function held at Gallery MOMO in Johannesburg yesterday, noting that the Reno15 Pro and Reno15 F will be available to consumers from 7 February.
With the Reno14 range available in October last year, this confirms that OPPO is continuing to launch every new Reno range locally, instead of every second iteration as in the past.
The Reno15 range continues to incrementally increase the capability of the Reno range, cementing these smartphones as solid mid-range options for local customers. OPPO stated that despite the smartphone market currently being shaped by ongoing supply-chain disruption and component shortages, the local pricing for the Reno15 range has been kept steady.

Display and design specifications
The Reno15 Pro and Reno15 F both feature AMOLED displays with 120 Hz refresh rates, though they differ slightly in scale. The Pro model utilises a 6.32” screen designed for high colour accuracy and a high screen-to-body ratio (93.35%). In contrast, the Reno15 F offers a larger 6.57” display.
Durability is a key focus for this generation, with both handsets carrying an IP69 rating. This high level of ingress protection allows for specialised use cases, such as the included underwater photography mode, as found on the previous two Reno versions.

Camera and imaging hardware
Imaging remains the primary differentiator for the Reno15 Pro, which debuts a 200 MP main sensor. This is supported by a 50MP telephoto lens offering a 3.5x optical portrait zoom and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. At the launch the company emphasised the 50MP ultra-wide front-facing camera with 100° field of view. This means more people in view when taking a group selfie. The phone is also capable of 4K video.
The same wide angle selfie camera is present on the Reno 15 F, but it carries a more standard 50 MP main camera alongside ultra-wide and macro sensors. Both devices integrate OPPO’s latest AI-driven software, including AI Eraser 2.0 and AI Portrait Glow, to assist with content creation and mobile editing.
The OPPO Reno15 F
Internal hardware and battery life
Under the hood, the two models utilise chipsets from different silicon providers. The Reno15 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, featuring up to 12GB of RAM (expandable to 24GB via software) and 512GB of internal storage. It is equipped with a solid 6200mAh battery.
The Reno15 F opts for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Mobile Platform. While it occupies a lower performance tier, it compensates with a larger 7,000mAh battery. Both handsets support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, designed to minimise downtime while charging, adding as much power as possible in a short period of time.

Market availability and contract pricing
The series will be available through all major South African carriers, including Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C. In a bid to attract early adopters, OPPO is bundling the devices with peripherals such as the Watch S, Pad SE or Enco Buds.
