A couple of weeks ago, we wrote about Sony's PS4 beta test signup, in which gamers were asked to test the functionality of the company's latest software update before it officially went live. If you wanted to sign up, but never got round to it, the beta test begins today, and consequently will not allow other users to try it out.

That said, Sony has detailed quite a few features that the 3.0 software update is aiming to bring to the console. The most notable ones include an increase in online storage capacity, as PS Plus members will soon have access to 10 GB of storage as opposed to 1 GB in the past. The next notable feature is the ability to livestream to YouTube's new YouTube Gaming platform, both on the website and mobile app, which went live last week.

Sticking with sharing content, users will now be able to share video clips directly to Twitter, which should prove a great way of trolling your gaming nemesis after you've beaten their high score. Sony has also improved the Live from PlayStation app, according to Japanese company, and it is now easier to view popular trending broadcasts.

These are just a handful of the new features that beta testers will be trying out in the 3.0 software update. Unfortunately, there is no word on when this update will be porting to the PS4 gaming community at large.
