PUMA partners with esports organisation ATK
By Staff Writer 6 November 2020 | Categories: newsSports company PUMA today unveiled the first-ever apparel partnership with Cape Town based professional esports organisation ATK, which represents some of the country’s best esports talent across multiple titles.
Established in 2017, ATK has an arena in Claremont, Cape Town kitted with premium equipment designed to offer a professional gaming experience. The PUMA x ATK line features co-branded sport-style apparel tailored specifically to the needs of men and women esports athletes.
The line-up includes black or red t-shirts (R320), black or white hoodies (R780, R850), track pants (R680 men’s, R790 women’s), and a women’s track jacket (R880).
“Esports is a sporting phenomenon rapidly gaining popularity for players and spectators all over the world. It has become a big focus for PUMA which is why we partnered with California-based esports brand Cloud9 in 2019 and unveiled the first-ever jersey developed exclusively for the Manchester City esports team for the 2020/21 season,” explains PUMA South Africa Marketing Director Brett Bellinger. “This new partnership with ATK continues PUMA’s strategy of signing the best esports organisations across the globe.”
Back in September, Puma unveiled the Manchester City esports jersey for the 2020/21 season. The jersey features a unique paisley pattern created for Manchester City featuring the details of the club’s crest. The pattern is synonymous with artists from the ‘Mod’ and the ‘Brit Pop’ eras of the 1990s and was a staple of youth fashion in the 196’s, influencing fashion and music culture in Manchester for generations.
The PUMA x ATK esports apparel is available from today at the ATK online store.
