Joaquin Phoenix (The Master) can play an office chair and we’ll still get excited, but his latest project seems particularly interesting. Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot focuses on the life of risqué cartoonist John Callahan (Phoenix), who became a quadriplegic after the car he was riding in was involved in an accident.

The movie is the first in a number of years being directed by Gus van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Last Days), whose 2015 Sea of Trees did not go down so well with critics. Starring is Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street) as you have never seen him before, looking rather slim, sporting a beard and some long blond hair any surfer would be proud off. Also appearing is Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Jack Black (Nacho Libre), seemingly stepping away from the comedic roles he is known for.

This won’t quite be popcorn fare, but hopefully Van Sant can regain some of his mojo working alongside Phoenix. Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot will debut this Friday at the Sundance Film Festival, and hits movie theatres on 11 May Stateside.
