Good news if you are on the prowl for a PS4 locally. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that the PlayStation 4 with 500 GB hard disk drive (originally priced at R5 999.99) will now be available in South Africa at the new recommended retail price of R5 499.99.

A R500 drop is nothing to be frowned at, especially with the upcoming holiday season looming. There are also some hot titles coming this year still, including Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars Battlefront, launching alongside special PS4 hardware bundles. Blockbuster exclusives such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Street Fighter V are also expected to join the PS4 software title portfolio in 2016.

With more than 22.3 million units sold since its introduction, PS4 sales are close to double that of the Xbox One.
