Well that was quick. We only reported news of the new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge two weeks ago, and now Samsung has officially begun taking pre-orders for their new flagships. Along with the new metal frame sporting devices, those who opt to pre-order now will also receive a wireless charging unit for free.

Wireless charging was one of the new features that Samsung touted for both the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Along with wireless charging they also incorporate a fast charging function. According to Samsung, it takes half the time to charge to 50% battery capacity compared to the iPhone 6, a fact that Samsung was all too willing to share.

Samsung South Africa has stated that pre-ordering will be "essential" for those wanting to get their hands on the first batch of Galaxies to land in the country. Added to this, Samsung has said that only the White Pearl and Black Sapphire colour variants will be available come the 10 April launch date.

Although unconfirmed, the new S6 and S6 edge will most likely retail in the R11 000 to R13 000 range, given Samsung's history and the newly improved materials these devices use.

Those wishing to pre-order can head to the official Samsung South Africa site, or contact their respective network operator.
