Psychonauts 2 on the cards
By Ryan Noik 4 December 2015 | Categories: newsYou may want to sit down for this one, especially if you are a Psychonauts fan. It looks like Psychonauts 2 might actually be a possibility. The sequel to Tim Schafer’s beloved game, which garnered the kind of geek acclaimed that is usually reserved for the likes of cult favourites such as Game of Thrones or Firefly may just happen if the developer can raise enough cash via crowdfunding platform Fig.
So how much is being asked by Double Fine to make Psychonaut fans’ dream come true? A mere $3.3 million. Here’s the heartening thing though – the campaign has just been announced, with more than a month left on the clock to reach its goal. At the time of this writing, it has raised $712 000, or 20% of the amount needed to make it a reality.
The game will apparently follow on from the cliffhanger ending of Psychonauts 1, but bring new characters for Razputin and new mental worlds for protagonist Razputin to explore as he uses his PSI abilities.
Should it fulfill its funding goal, and we have no doubt it will, It will be slated for release in 2018. We know, it’s a while to wait, but then fans have been waiting for another Psychonauts for the better part of a decade.
Take a look at the pitch video below.
