Puma brings Hybrid Foam to Speed 600 2 running shoes
By Staff Writer 24 January 2020 | Categories: newsIf it’s a lightweight, speedy shoe you are after, Puma is bringing back its Speed 600 shoe, transforming it into the Speed 600 2 with a weight of only 292 g.
The shoe now gets the HYBRID FOAM treatment, which is Puma’s rice crispy looking NRGY beads that you see as the first layer in the midsole. Puma claims that it offers instant cushioning and responsiveness (and they are right), with the bottom layer consisting of PROFOAM, a lightweight EVA midsole that offers a high-rebound – typically wanted on a speedy, shorter run.
Puma completes the cushioning with what they call the Speedtraction outsole for better traction, as well as a Proplate technology that company claims provides better toe-off and “torsional rigidity for midfoot stability to give you a smoother transition.”
We tested the Puma Speed 500 Ignite running shoes a while back, and they were ideal for shorter runs where you can up the speed. Wether the SPEED 600 2 can break into the 21km and up terrority will need to be tested, and you can do so by buying a pair for R2399 on 1 February when it drops at PUMA Stores and selected retailers.
