Well known for their gaming peripherals, Razer turned their attention to the wearables space and debuted the Nabu X smartband early last year. Now the Nabu X has arrived in South Africa, as Razer aims to target the local wearable market.

Competition is certainly stiff for the Nabu X, with the Garmin vivofit (review) and Sony SmartBand (review) already carving strong names for themselves given their time in the market. As such, Razer has fitted the Nabu X with a number of tools and sensors to place it on par with a number of options out there. Just like the aforementioned offerings, the Nabu X measures and tracks movement, as well as records wearer's sleep. Added to this is smartphone notifications, aided by a three LED lights located on the front of the Nabu X.

Along with the on-device notifications and alerts, the Nabu X works in conjunction with a Home for Razer app (Android and iOS) for users to get a better idea of their daily progress. The Nabu X is set to retail for an ultra-low R650 to R700 (depending on local retailer), with stock expected to arrive locally in coming weeks. For now though, Razer has been talking up the wallet-friendly price tag, and features of the Nabu X on Facebook.

Set to arrive on our review desk soon, expect a full rundown of the Nabu X's pros and cons in next week.
