If anything else, Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One should be a massive romp. A new trailer has seen the light of day, showing us more of the VR world of the Oasis, filled with blink and you’ll miss it pop culture references we’ve now come to expect. The IMAX trailer expands on some of the dangers Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan, Mud) faces as he battles an evil corporation for control of the Oasis.

If we were to make a prediction, Ready Player One will be one of the few blockbusters that does not have its fame due to being part of a franchise. If it’s anything as good as Ernest Cline’s novel, then movie goers are in for a treat. Although, having said that, the VR avatars of the characters look a bit strange and unsettling.

The movie also stars Simon Pegg (Shawn of the Dead) and T.J. Miller from Silicon Valley. As mentioned on IMBD, director Steven Spielberg was actually mentioned in the book, but he said he won’t be incorporating this into the movie.
