Apple recently refreshed its MacBook Pro with Retina Display, the first time the company has done so in nearly four years, bringing the new Touch Bar to the fore. Naturally, the next step is to update the rest of the Cupertino-based company's notebook offerings, and it appears as if next month's WWDC conference will be the time and place. 

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is gearing up to showcase a new version of its 13" MacBook Pro, with this variant sporting an Intel Kaby Lake processor. There's also a more powerful version of its 12" MacBook (the first to sport USB- Type-C ports), as well as a refreshed MacBook Air. 

If the latter turns out to be true, we're a little unsure where Apple will position it, with the new 13" MacBook sans Touch Bar and 12" MacBook already taking up space in the slim notebook sector of the company's notebook lineup.  

At the moment, no revolutionary features are being touted, but most of these devices are expected to have USB Type-C ports only, which means the dongle life will become a surety.  

Nevertheless, a refresh could be worthwhile, especially as Apple has been lagging behind when it comes to the mobile side of the business. As such, a series of updated notebooks could improve the profit margins, while Apple ponders its next moves for iPhone and iPad. 

WWDC kicks off next month, 5-9 June in California, with an updated iPad lineup also anticipated to appear alongside the rumoured new MacBooks.
