Even the best laid travel plans are likely to go askew, at least at some point along a journey. Now, a new travel app aims to address this, by offering a measure of peace of mind for the near inevitable misadventure.

The app, which is available for iOS and Android platforms, enables users to create and share emergency profiles with designated contacts, giving them access to one’s important travel and medical information should an emergency arise.

What’s your Plan B?

Additionally, it offers a vault feature, for securely storing copies of essential travel documentation, such as passport information and identity documents. Although the app is clearly focused on providing a Plan B in the event of something going awry, that is not all it offers, paying homage to the fact that travels are also meant to feature fun.

Thus, it boasts a festival guide, giving an overview of the best festivals happening across the globe; a currency converter, tip calculator (so you don’t run afoul of service-providing locals) and of course a travel planner, for when you need to foster the illusion of being in control of life.

Tour de force

While the app is free for general users, it really flexes its muscles when used and deployed by tour operators. Users can then view detailed itinerary and trip information for their tour, view details for other participants and receive messages within the app from the tour guide prior to and during the tour’s duration. It is currently available on the Google Play and Apple App store.

For an animated look at what the app is all about, make sure you have your passport ready, step over the red line and proceed to the video below.
