Samsung S10 rumours start with in-display fingerprint reader
By Staff Writer 25 June 2018 | Categories: newsWith the Galaxy S9 still fresh in mind, rumours are already circulating around next year's S10, if that is what it is going to be called. SamMobile got some juicy info from Korean publication The Bell, which notes that in-display fingerprint technology could just feature on the new device.
That means no more trying to find the scanner on the back while smudging the camera lens in the process. There's also talk of a 3D face-scanning module, a la the iPhone X, said to be in production in collaboration with an Israeli company called Mantis. Sammobile notes that 3D scanning modules are faster than Samsung's proprietary iris sensor, and might lead to this sensor being left out completely.
Will Samsung go for a notch this time round? Well that's unknown right now, but it's said that screen size will be 5.8” (same as S9) and 6.3” (+0.1” more) for the Plus model.
All this is of course just rumours, and we'll only be getting something official early from Samsung early next year.
