PRESS RELEASE

Samsung South Africa has brought the Samsung Galaxy Studio to the country. An immersive customer interaction zone, it demonstrates the multiple mobile devices the South Korean manufacturer has recently debuted, with the new Galaxy S7 (hands-on) at the centre of it all.

The Galaxy Studio is located in Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, Johannesburg, and is one of 12 Galaxy Studios that are being set up across the world. The Johannesburg Galaxy Studio is the seventh installation after London, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, New York, Seoul and Tokyo.

“Samsung enriches peoples’ lives through trailblazing mobile devices that enable truly connected living. We provide consumers with connectivity, knowledge, applications and functionality to create the life you want,”, says Craige Fleischer, director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

The Samsung Galaxy Studio will provide consumers with the opportunity to interact with the latest  Samsung technology, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge (review) smartphones. The Studio tracks the evolution of the Samsung Galaxy S series devices showcasing the full range of Galaxy-series devises and how they connect to form an integrated ecosystem.

“Our constant drive to improve the lives of our customers and consumer alike is at the heart of our business. Through the Galaxy Studio we can show them the abilities Samsung’s Galaxy range of products offer them to connect, share, organise and get more out of life,” adds Fleischer.

By visiting the Studio, consumers can engage with Samsung’s wide range of devices. Apart from experiencing the world of virtual reality through Samsung’s brand new flagship smartphone and Gear VR, visitors will also be treated to a 4D Theatre experience. There is a host of premium products to test and play with. Visitors can snap selfies and pictures with the Dual Pixel camera on the S7 smartphone or test their fitness levels with the Gear S2 smartwatch.

The studio opened to the public on 7 April and runs until 30 April. Visiting hours are from 9:00 AM to 20:00 PM, Mondays to Saturdays, and from 9:00 AM to 18:00 PM on Sundays. Trained Samsung brand ambassadors will be available to take visitors through the studio and answer any questions they may have. There will also be several prizes and give-aways up for grabs.
