Samsung announces impending 27 inch curved gaming monitor
By Ryan Noik 19 June 2019 | Categories: newsIt’s appealing news for gamers in particular this week, as Samsung has announced its new 27” CRG5 (C27RG5) gaming monitor. Along with being curved, the monitor also boasts a 240Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility.
The company noted that this will “eliminate screen lag time while displaying ultra-smooth scenes for a truly immersive experience.” As well as promising tear-free gameplay, Samsung assured that the deeper blacks and brighter whites, with a 3000:1 contrast ratio, will provide superfine detail in both the darkest and the brightest parts of a game.
“Combining a 240Hz refresh rate with NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility in Samsung’s new CRG5 curved gaming monitor gives gamers advanced performance for the most graphic-intense games,” enthused Reggie Nxumalo, Head of B2B at Samsung South Africa.
As for design, the CRG5’s has minimal bezels, with near edge-to-edge screen on three sides. Gamers can also select pre-set display options for any genre of game with an on-screen digital menu. For more advanced customisation users can create up to three separate display profiles to easily switch between.
The price of the screen has not been divulged, however gamers aiming to upgrade their display can expect to be able to do so in the third quarter of the year, when it is slated to be made available.
