Samsung awarded most admired brand ahead of Note 10, Tab S6 launch
By Ryan Noik 12 July 2019 | Categories: newsWhile some mobile brands have had a tumultuous past few months, Samsung appears to be on a bit of a roll again.
Despite the difficulties with the launch of the Galaxy Fold, the company is riding a wave of excitement of an impending Galaxy Note 10 release next month, with rumours, leaks and expectations all preceding the next Unpacked taking place on the 7th of August.
There, we will hopefully find out for sure whether one or both of its Note 10’s do have a headphone jack and expandable storage or not, as well as exactly what the camera system will offer as well as tech specs.
As well, a leak this week has suggested that the company’s forthcoming Galaxy Tab S6 might feature alongside the Note 10 release as well. What’s interesting about that is BGR asserts that Samsung’s latest may be taking aim at revitalising the tablet sector in general and at competing more heavily with the Ipad Pro in particular.
The tablet - whether it arrives in August or not - is rumoured to boast an in-display fingerprint sensor, quad speakers, an OLED display and perhaps most enticing of all, a 15 hour battery life.
Add to that an S-pen, Samsung DeX support and the facility to answer and make calls on the tablet by synching with one's smartphone and it looks like the company may be onto something. This, while Apple appears to be battling a bit to keep its users interested in what’s next for its Ipad Pro line.
That is not all that should be adding wind to Samsung’s sails. Most recently, the company received the nod for the most admired technology brand in Africa in the 7th annual Brand Africa 100 survey and well as the third overall most admired brand in Africa, across all categories.
Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands is a Brand Africa initiative to research, rank and celebrate leading brands on the continent.
More specifically, the Brand Africa 100 list recognised Samsung as the number one brand in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco as well as number three in Kenya.
“It’s always an honour to be recognised by the people we design our products for. This research validates our ongoing focus on creating products that empower Africans to do more. Samsung’s continued growth in Africa is fuelled by our commitment to be a part of the continent’s growth and prosperity,” commented Dudu Mokholo, chief marketing officer at Samsung Central Africa.
The rankings are published annually in partnership with African Business Magazine and Brand Africa Partners.
For now, all eyes are going to be on the company for the launch of the Note 10, which may be its largest phablet in the range to date.
