Samsung plans to unpack Galaxy Note 8 on 23 August
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 21 July 2017 | Categories: newsFor the past couple of weeks, rumours were churning that Samsung would be unveiling their next Note phablet in late August. Now the South Korean manufacturer has confirmed when the reveal of the Galaxy Note 8 will happen, with 23 August the date in question and New York City playing host.
Things are slated to kick off at 17:00 (SAST) with all eyes on Samsung to see whether the Note 8 will impress as highly as the Galaxy S8 did. Question is, will it make consumers forget about the failed Note 7 and its exploding battery issues?
While the final design of the Note 8 remains a mystery, the GIF that accompanied the invite does seem to offer up some clues. Just like the Galaxy S8, the Note 8 may also feature an Infinity Display, with the S Pen remaining a fixture for the device. Hopefully the latter is imbued with a few more features to make use of the increased screen real estate the Note 8 will afford.
With a little over a month to go until Samsung officially lifts the veil, we're sure plenty more details will emerge about the company's forthcoming flagship phablet.
