When it comes to Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, the full reputational damage of recalling the flagship phablet as a result of exploding batteries, cannot be truly quantified. Following several hundred incidents where Note 7's spontaneously combusted, specifically in the US, the South Korean has been trying to quell any fears and restore consumer confidence.

While the official reason for the exploding batteries has not been detailed, we will receive a clearer idea this coming Monday - 23 January.

At 3:00 AM (SAST), Samsung will hold a press conference in Seoul, South Korea detailing the cause of the issue, as well as the measures the company will be taking to ensure a similar fiasco does not occur.

"Samsung Electronics, as well as independent expert organizations who conducted their own investigations into various aspects of the Galaxy Note 7 incidents, will share their findings. In addition, Samsung will discuss the new measures the company has implemented in response to the incidents," said the company in an official statement
