Samsung to release 'fandom' edition of Galaxy Note 7
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 28 June 2017 | Categories: newsSamsung seems still intent on selling some Galaxy Note 7 phablets. Ever since the the device's battery was deemed faulty during a global recall last year, the South Korean has been looking for ways to get refurbished versions of the Note 7 into the hands of users.
To that end, Samsung is releasing a Galaxy Note 7 FE, which features most of the original elements of the mobile device, but replaces the former problematic battery with a smaller one.
The device is slated to land in its native South Korea on 7 July, according to the Wall Street Journal. At this stage, it's unclear how many units Samsung will be shipping, or how much the device will retail for. With the Galaxy Note 8 expected to debut in late August, it should be interesting to see if consumers would consider the phablet.

A refurbished Note 7 is not the only device Samsung detailed this week, with a pink coloured variant of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ set to land in Taiwan. It's not the first time Samsung has gone for the pink colourway, doing so for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge last year, which remained exclusive to South Korea. Apart from the new colour, everything else on the devices remains the same.
