SanDisk and Sahara Computers sign distribution deal
By Staff Writer 31 July 2013 | Categories: newsFlash memory storage solutions provider SanDisk has signed a distribution deal with IT distributor Sahara Computers as part of its strategy to expand its footprint in Africa.
This partnership sees Sahara Computers focussing on supplying the large reseller IT channel within the South African market with SanDisk products, as well as dealing with independent retail outlets and resellers.
Sreedhar Sreekumar, SanDisk regional sales manager for Middle East and Africa said: “South Africa is the economic powerhouse of Africa and represents huge potential for SanDisk. Sahara has a wide network of distribution points across the country and strong relationships within retail and resellers across the country. This will help bolster SanDisk’s strong market position and increase market share in the South African flash memory market.”
Stephan SJD Nel, executive director of Sahara Computers added: “Our partnership with SanDisk reinforces our commitment to make consumer technology more readily available to end-users in South Africa.”
In other local corporate related news, Nokia recently announced the appointment of Shaun Durandt as general manager for Nokia South Africa.
