Is that 2 TB hard drive just not cutting it anymore? Well Seagate may have a solution on the horizon. According to Geek.com, the American data storage company is working on a 16 TB hard drive for release in 2018.

The hard drive is reportedly not designed to be a massive external unit, but rather a far sleeker SATA version, built on the standard 3.5" design most hard drive owners are familiar with. As The Verge notes, Seagate announced a large 10 TB hard drive last year, but this proposed 16 TB model would be the largest (capacity wise) magnetic disk drive ever.

Still to be unveiled, Seagate's 16 TB hard drive would likely cost in excess of $600 (R8 174), as their current 10 TB version retails around the $535 mark.
