Second trailer for The BFG takes us deeper into Roald Dahl's world
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 6 April 2016 | Categories: news"It was the witching hour. When the boogeyman comes out." So starts the new full length trailer for The BFG, the beloved Roald Dahl book now turned into a big budget film by Disney and Steven Spielberg. The former released a teaser trailer for the film earlier this year, where we got a few slight glimpses of the titular Big Friendly Giant. This new offering however, holds nothing back, as viewers dive head first into the Dahl's world.
As expected, there is plenty of CGI involved in the creation of the movie, and by the looks of the trailer, this film looks primed for 3D viewing. As far as talents go, BFG has a few relatively unknown names among its ranks, with Sophie played by newcomer Ruby Barnhill. The BFG is voiced by Mark Rylance, who recently worked with director Spielberg on Bridge of Spies, which he also won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for.
The BFG is set to hit cinemas Stateside on 1 July, just in time for their Independence Day weekend. South Africans can expect it locally at the same time. Until then, sit back and enjoy the trailer below.
