Muk Ban is a live streaming trend that kicked off a couple years ago, specifically in South Korea, where a number of users gained notoriety and success by having others watch them eat from their PC screens. Now, Muk Ban is finding its place on Twitch, a streaming platform which has exclusively been used for gaming content since it was reformed from its justin.tv roots.

Filed under Social Eating on Twitch, the new category has seen several hundred users enjoying all manner of food and beverage. The debut of these "Food Porn" videos is an oddity, especially as Muk Ban style videos have previously been prohibited on Twitch, according to Polygon.

While Twitch has not commented on the trend, it does see the platform enter into the same sort of territory as YouTube, as Engadget notes, with Muk Ban having found a firm foothold on the Google-owned website. Whether or not this trend will turn into a full blown category for Twitch remains to be seen, but it might just be that watching others doing everyday things turns into big business.
