Ster Kinekor reiterates PS4 showcase at rAge
By Ryan Noik 1 October 2013 | Categories: newsAmid confirmation of a delay in the PS4’s local launch to the 13th of December rather than the original 6th December, the latest official news from its local distributor, Ster Kinekor Entertainment (SKE) is that gamers will indeed be able to see the console hands on at the rAge Expo, which begins on Friday.
Ster Kinekor also detailed which games across all three of its systems (PS4, PS3 and, in our opinion, its woefully unappreciated portable console, the PS Vita) will be showcased. On the PS4, Knack and Driveclub will apparently grace visitors with their presence.
On the PS3 side of things Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6, Batman Arkham Origins, Lego Marvel Superheroes and PES2014 will also be showcased. Finally, on the PS Vita, gamers can expect to see Killzone: Mercenary, Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom and Tearaway.
To the point
The PS4, which will boast a x86-64 AMD Jaguar, eight core processor, 8 GB of GDDR5 MEMORY and two USB 3 ports, as well as an HDMI one, is also still slated to carry a RRP of R6 300, at least at present, barring any unforeseen changes in the exchange rate.
In recent news, Valve also stepped into the ring to win over entertainment in your living room in 2014, announcing its new SteamBox and an innovative, touch-based controller.
As excited as we are to see the PS4 at rAge, the new console is not the only new attraction making an appearance – this year, TechSmart will also be on the show floor, at stand 28, offering visitors the opportunity to have their photo taken with some of our cover women.
