Apple is expected to reveal its new iPhone 8, as well as some other hardware, at a keynote on 12 September next week. In the lead up to the event, several rumours have been floating around about the new iPhone's pricing, with it said to start from $999. With newly sourced parts believed to be the reason for the increase in asking price, up from the iPhone 7's $649 (32 GB), a recently leaked pricing list appears to add credence to the rumours.

The leak comes via tech analyst Benjamin Geskin, who revealed the details on Twitter, making for some double-take inducing reading. As such, the 64 GB iPhone 8 could cost an estimated $999 (R12 960), with the 256 GB model going for $1099 (R14 260) and 512 GB version for $1199 (R15 560).

If the pricing proves true, it would certainly be in keeping with the market, as prices for flagship devices continued to increase this year. Whether or not consumers will be willing shell out that much remains to be seen, but then again price has never been a major hurdle for Apple and its fans.
