Injustice 2's May release is still some ways off, but that has not stopped developer NetherRealm from adding to the game's roster of characters. The latest addition sees Swamp Thing being added to the mix, and a first look trailer via IGN too.

Once a scientist, now a living elemental, Swamp Thing is the unofficial protector of all plant life in the DC comic book universe. How he fits into the Injustice storyline though, is unclear. Nevertheless, seeing Swamp Thing make quick work of the likes of Robin (Damian Wayne) and Atrocitus in the gameplay trailer below makes us eager to try him out when Injustice 2 arrives. 

With a varied array of attacks, as well as a pretty unique looking finishing move, Swamp Thing looks like a good all-round fighter in the Injustice 2 roster. Watch him in action in the trailer after the break. We've also added the cartoon intro for a little bit of nostalgia on a Tuesday.
