After 138 free issues, Smart Publishing has taken the decision to focus TechSmart exclusively online. All the latest tech news, reviews and related content will continue to be available daily at www.techsmart.co.za.

Starting in 2003, TechSmart magazine pioneered a new breed of free-to-public publications that combined quality content and advertising, in order to provide readers with a high-end free magazine. TechSmart soon became the largest technology magazine in South Africa, trusted by its readers for the latest notebook, smartphone, tablet, camera and gadget reviews. This tradition continues at www.techsmart.co.za, with a renewed effort to provide visitors with the best tech news and reviews.

TechSmart’s online presence was also established in 2003, and counts amongst the largest technology-focused sites in the country. Not only concentrating on tech-related content, the website has expanded to include lifestyle-related content, including movies, cars, games, comics and outdoor gear. There is also business-focused ICT news and features provided at www.techsmart.co.za/business.

Mike Joubert, editor of TechSmart, reassured that significant plans are underway to grow the site and TechSmart's presence in the industry. He further noted, “TechSmart was started 12 years ago since we believed that technology will be playing an ever increasing role in South Africans’ lives. With smartphones, tablets and notebooks now commonplace, this is indeed true. For many of our monthly readers, TechSmart is their connection to the world of technology, providing 100% home-grown content with a strong South African focus. This will remain true for www.techsmart.co.za.”
