The Huawei Nova now available in South Africa
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 1 February 2017 | Categories: newsFirst debuted at IFA 2016 last September, Huawei has now brought the Nova to South Africa. Classed as premium mid-range offering. This device is a slightly less expensive option for consumers that aren't interested in going for the Lite versions of Huawei's P series flagships, retailing for a recommended R6 999.
Drawing design inspiration from its P series of devices, along with a little hint of iPhone if you ask us, the Nova certainly looks the part of the premium mid-range device. The 5" smartphone's specifications are not to be scoffed at either.
The display features a 1920x1080 resolution and 441 ppi pixel density. Going a bit deeper, there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 doing the heavy lifting internally. It has eight cores in total, with each quad-core churning at a respectable 2.0 GHz, respectively, and 3 GB of RAM thrown into the mix. There's also 32 GB of onboard storage and microSD slot good for a further 256 GB should you need it. Other aspects sees a 12 MP primary on the rear, with a fingerprint reader found just below. A 8 MP camera is pulling duty up front and a 3020 mAh battery powering the lot.
The 5" Nova is the only device in that series that Huawei will be bringing to SA in an official capacity, as we're told the Nova Plus will not be made available.
