The Titan V is Nvidia's most powerful PC GPU to date
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 8 December 2017 | Categories: newsThe New Year is almost upon us, which means it's time to start thinking about upgrading your rig. Luckily, Nvidia just unveiled its latest GPU to entice PC gamers. Called the Nvidia Titan V, it's said to be the most powerful PC GPU that the manufacturer has produced to date.
What's it packing? Well Nvidia notes it features 21.1 billion transistors to deliver up to 110 teraflops of processing power, which is nine times that of its predecessor. Fabricated on a 12 nanometer architecture, the Titan V also utilises Nvidia's Volta system to tap into 12 GB HBM2 memory. This Nvidia believes makes it the most efficient offering they've ever come up with.
Like many flagship processors these days, the Titan V also boasts native AI functionality for optimised deep learning, according to the company. Up for sale in the United States right now, the Titan V will set you back a hefty $2 999, but it could be a relatively small price to pay for the most powerful PC GPU that Nvidia has ever made.
