The iPhone XR - Not as affordable as you might have hoped
By Staff Writer 19 October 2018 | Categories: newsThe iPhone XR, Apple’s supposed cheap phone, is now open for pre-orders. But if you were thinking of getting an affordable iPhone, think again. At R15 999, it knocks the price higher than both the flagship Huawei P20 and Samsung Galaxy S9. The local iStore has opened pre-orders for the iPhone XR today, while it will be in stores starting 26 October 2018.
Pre-orders will be open for cash purchases and on iStore’s revised payment plan in partnership with FNB Credit Card, allowing customers to pay off their iPhone at a reduced interest rate. New to iStore, customers can now also pre-order their contract upgrade for iPhone XR on Vodacom and MTN through the online store. Online contract upgrades for both Vodacom and MTN for iPhone Xs and Xs Max will also be available from Friday.
Together with FNB Credit Card, iStore has launched two new monthly payment plan options for customers to upgrade their iPhone.
Maximum Flexibility (Max Plan) - 12 Month upgrade option / 23 month payment plan to own:
Get the ability to upgrade to a new iPhone every year by trading in your iPhone after 12 months to settle your outstanding payment plan, or continue the monthly payments to own your iPhone after a total of 23 months.
Minimum cost per month (Min Plan) - 24 Month upgrade option / 37 month payment plan to own:
Save by trading in your iPhone after 24 months to settle your outstanding contract, or continue the monthly payments to own your iPhone after a total of 37 months.
Pre-ordering online for either cash, on the FNB payment plan or a Vodacom or MTN online contract upgrade gives customers the benefit of reserving their purchase without having to queue and the added convenience of having purchases delivered directly to their door. Pre-orders of iPhone XR can be completed online by visiting www.myistore.co.za.
Exclusive to iStore, all customers can get its two-year extended warranty, which includes one Apple Certified screen repair, that normally sells for R1 999, for mahala. To qualify, customers should secure a voucher online now at www.myistore.co.za, and subsequently redeem it when they upgrade their contract or purchase any new iPhone at iStore (iPhone 8 and newer) between now and 31 December 2018.
