Toyota unveils Dakar Edition Hilux range
By Hanleigh Daniels 26 July 2013 | Categories: newsThe Toyota Hilux climbs its way onto the top of the South African car sales charts on a monthly basis, and it seems that the Japanese carmaker is looking to maintain the status-quo. That’s why Toyota South Africa Motors has launched a new limited edition version of the Hilux called the Dakar Edition.
This special range has been created in celebration of the performance of the Hilux within the 2013 Dakar Rally, and coincided with the announcement of the Toyota Imperial SA Dakar team for 2014.
Toyota stated that the Dakar package is available for a limited period only (between July to September 2013) on Raider grade variants of the Hilux, across all three body types (Single, Xtra and Double Cab).
Exterior features that sets the Dakar Edition Hilux versions apart from the standard Raider bakkies includes:
- Stainless steel nudge bar with Dakar logo
- Stainless steel rear styling bar with Dakar logo
- Stainless steel side steps with Dakar logo
- Rear step bumper with tow bar
- Black tonneau cover
- Smoky grey alloy wheels
- Body coloured mirrors
- Body coloured door handles
- Tailgate Dakar badge
Exclusive interior features of the Dakar Edition Hilux range includes:
- Black leather seats with red stitching
- Black leather door inserts with red stitching
- Black carpet set with red Dakar embroidery and red border
- Reverse camera (Xtra Cab and Double Cab)
