Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced
By Ryan Noik 5 June 2015 | Categories: newsThe good news, at least for PS4 players, keeps on coming, especially if you somehow missed the Uncharted series on the previous console, as a PS4 remastered collection of all three Uncharted games is on the horizon. This means that those who don’t have a PS3 will be able to play Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (which kicked the franchise off in fine form), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (arguably the best in the series so far) and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (still outstanding).
The developers explained that, since the launch of the PS4, they had seen seen many requests across Twitter, Facebook, and message boards all over the internet for the first three games in the Uncharted series to receive a remastered release. Doing duty on the remastering is Bluepoint Games, working closely with Naughty Dog.
Perhaps the most tantalising tidbit in the announcement comes from a small tease, as Naughty Dog hinted that along with being able to play the first three games at 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, they were further working on “a range of improvements and additions across all three games.”
“We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates,” the team teased.
As usual, pre-ordering nets you a few extra goodies, such as the Nathan Drake Pack which includes single player skins of iconic Drake outfits and the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS guns. Pre-ordering the digital download will further grant you an Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection PS4 dynamic theme.”
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’s arrival is not too far away at all, with its release dated for the 7th of October, a good few months ahead of the likely release window for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. What’s more, the Nathan Drake Collection also has a treasure of its own - early access to Uncharted 4’s multiplayer beta.
