If you own an iOS device sporting 10.3 or better of the mobile operating system, there should be an interesting update on the way for WhatsApp users. The instant messaging app is receiving an impending update, according to MacRumors, which will allow Siri to read one's messages aloud when prompted.

Support for Apple's native digital assistant is said to come in version 2.17.2 of WhatsApp, along with a few other bug fixes for the platform. These include a tweak to the two-step verification process for setup, as well as redesigns for the Group and Contact Info sections of the app.

Shifting back to Siri, it's unclear how far the functionality will extend beyond reading out messages at this stage, with support for the desktop version of WhatsApp also unknown for now.
